1. It’s Thursday, so you’re going to get out of school early and eat delicious, nutritious dollar pizza. Describe the path that the slice of pizza would take through your digestive system.
2. Why does the small intestine contain villi and microvilli?
3. How does the digestive system work to maintain homeostasis in your body? Think deeply and be specific. Include an example if possible.
4. What are other systems of the body that the digestive system will interact with in order to maintain homeostasis? Identify at least two systems and then describe in detail how each works with the digestive system.
5. How are the digestive system and its structures and functions related to concepts like diffusion, osmosis and/or active transport?
